The man charged with murdering Damian Cope goes to trial in March 2004. All activity will coincide with the day after the trial starts, so as not to affect the trial. The media attention the trial will create will be used to bring about a national demand to update the gun laws. |
The short film 'Toys that Kill' has been produced to publicise the campaign. It will be shown in cinemas across the UK (and is also available here).
In the words of Toby Harris,
'The short film produced by Mothers Against Guns is important and hard hitting and will shock everyone out of thinking that this is only something that happens to other people. These killings affect the entire community and it will take the entire community to stop them.'

The film is also going to be shown on The Community Channel and a feature will appear on their website www.communitychannel.org.
Mothers Against Guns are collecting signatures on a petition to demand the total ban of replica guns in the UK. Click here to sign our online petition. The petition is also being housed in police stations, schools, universities, libraries and community centres across the UK, including Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham and Sunderland.
